Born in Amsterdam, Yuro has called Castlegar his home since 1998, drawn to the region by its majestic mountains, serene lakes, and exceptional skiing. Alongside his wife Meagan and their three children – Heiko, Petra, and Ingrid – Yuro immerses himself in the abundance of experiences the Kootenays offer. Graduating from the University of Alberta in 1998, he uncovered his true calling in creating radiant smiles, recognizing that a transformed smile not only enhances one's appearance but can also alleviate years of pain, including headaches. Witnessing the profound impact of smile transformations, Dr. Ihns pursued advanced education through the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where he is now a distinguished graduate, and remains dedicated to enriching the lives of his patients through continuous learning.

    Nikita has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 17 years and brings over 21 years of experience in the dental field. Before becoming a hygienist, she worked as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), giving her a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and experience that benefits both her patients. Nikita has been a valued member of the KSS team since 2014.
    Known for her warm, compassionate nature and exceptionally gentle touch, Nikita is dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. She believes that building trusting, long-term relationships with her patients is the key to helping them achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
    Nikita is passionate about patient education and empowering individuals to understand the important connection between oral health and overall systemic well-being. She takes pride in providing patients with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to make informed decisions about their health and confidently achieve their oral health goals.
    Outside of the office, Nikita enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. Whether she’s cheering on her girls at activities, camping, biking, paddle boarding, relaxing at the beach, or gathering with friends and family, she embraces every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories with her family.

With over 28 years of experience in treatment planning, finances, and dental procedures, she excels in providing exceptional customer service. Beyond her work, Trena is passionate about ancient history, international travel, and culinary exploration.
