NewTom VGi

The NewTom VGi is a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner that gives us the ability to see things that traditional two dimensional images won’t. From regular screening for infections or cysts to more advanced surgical planning for implants, a 3 dimensional scan provides us with the most information to give you the best care possible. For example, when planning the placement of an implant, we can virtually perform the surgery digitally before it is actually performed. This allows us to place the implant in an ideal location, ensuring that your teeth function and look natural.

Wand Advanced Injection Technology

Operated by Dr. Yuro Ihns, the Wand is a revolutionary computer controlled local anesthesia injection system that can provide a more comfortable and effective anesthetic delivery.

Many of our clients call it the ‘Magic’ wand!

Most people who have had a bad experience with injections think that needles sting because the skin is pierced, but this is usually not so! Most often, the sting was caused because the anesthetic was injected in too quickly. Obviously, it is possible for the dentist to control the speed with a standard syringe, but the idea of the Wand is to take out the “human error”. This can be very reassuring for people with previous bad experiences.

The microprocessor inside The Wand automatically compensates for different tissue densities. The anesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume that’s typically below the threshold of pain. The computer also provides a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This numbs the site of insertion and develops a “pathway of anesthesia” so you hardly feel the needle at all. The Wand delivers the anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection every time.

K7 Evaluation System & T.E.N.S.

For help with your aching jaw or even to help with your migraines, Dr. Peter Lawczynski has muscle relaxation equipment and equipment that will help find YOUR healthiest, most comfortable jaw position. No more migraines! No more aching jaw!

First, we’ll evaluate your jaw position and look at how you bite and clench your jaw. We’ll use a diagnostic computer software program to record your jaw opening through its full range of motion, as well as to measure the activity of key jaw muscles.

From there a machine called the T.E.N.S. (Transcutaneous Electro Neural Stimulation) device relaxes your face and jaw muscles by delivering gentle pulses to the facial muscle. The gentle pulsation and massage of the muscles increases blood flow, helps ease any discomfort and relaxes the muscles in your face and jaw, enabling us to determine your most natural bite position.

K7 Unit, a computerized neuromuscular procedure to precisely measure and study the pattern of opening and closing your jaw. This study is done by placing a small magnet on your lower gum and a light weight spectacle-like device containing magnetic sensors. This allows the doctor and assistant to track your jaw movements on the computer screen and to detect abnormal movements that may otherwise go undetected.
